ABU BAKR AS-SIDDĪQ رضي الله عنه ❤️ FORGIVE — EVEN WHEN YOUR HEART HAS BEEN HURT. Day before, we learned how Umm Sulaym رضي الله عنها shared the little food she had. Today, Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه teaches us that sometimes the greatest gift we can give is forgiveness. When false accusations were spread against his daughter ‘Aishah رضي الله عنها, Abu Bakr was deeply hurt. Among those involved was Mistah, a poor relative whom Abu Bakr had been financially supporting. In his pain, Abu Bakr swore that he would no longer help him. Then Allah revealed: “Do you not love that Allah should forgive you?” 📖 Surah An-Nūr 24:22 Abu Bakr responded: “Yes, by Allah, I wish that Allah should forgive me.” And he resumed supporting Mistah. 📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 4750 (summary of the narration) ❤️ Think about that. He had been hurt. He had every opportunity to withhold his generosity. But when Allah reminded him of forgiveness, he changed his decision. Sometimes the greatest strength is not in holding on to our pain, but in choosing mercy for the sake of Allah. 🌿 OUR ACTION TODAY Forgive a resentment you have been carrying. Make du‘a for someone who hurt you. Take a safe step toward reconciliation, where possible. Forgiveness does not mean accepting ongoing harm or abandoning healthy boundaries. 🤲🏻 Ya Allah, forgive our shortcomings, soften our hearts, remove bitterness from them, and help us forgive others as we hope to receive Your forgiveness.
