@tommyrunpt: Running easy is not actually that easy… Many people find it easier to run faster as it allows them to take proper strides and feels more natural. But I often say, if you can jog on the spot, you can run easy and keep good form. Try to avoid the shuffle even over striding at slower paces, and think about circulating the feet and hopping from one foot to the other. Was doing some filming today for the new video course on Shin Splints for the coaching hub and thought it’d be fun to show how similar slow and fast (you can be the judge of that) actually can be.

Record yourself running a 5k at a 7:30 km pace and post a video of the worst running form you encounter during the run I’ll believe you.

So should your cadence be similar on all runs ? Sorry I’m a relatively new runner so not totally sure

So basically, you just increase your stride to speed up? Same cadence? Thank you

I understand your point but your “slow” is not as slow as a beginner runner. For example i am still running at 9:00/km for zone 2 and that’s very hard keep with high cadence

Your "slow" ain't slow though. Runna for example will tell many beginners to run between 7-8/km pace....feels like more effort to go that slow! 😂

I found it easier to keep form when wearing a weighted vest. Not sure why that is.

The problem here is endurance. Newer runners cant hold the “slow” pace/form in contrast to seasoned/experienced runners.

The jogging on the spot really helps at my base pace, everytime I catch my cadence being low I think of that
