@anvil.anna: Remember when I said plain stamp were my least favourite shoes to build? It’s because you can’t hide any mistakes on a shoe like this. You can see every awkward hammer blow, every corner, every fine or course nail hole. I forced myself to make them on repeat through the years, even though all the little mistakes stared me in the face. There were a few I didn’t even want to nail on a horse, not because they weren’t perfectly acceptable shoes, but because my perfectionism wouldn’t let me be proud of that shoe job. Well, now they’re my favourite shoes to build and nail up. They showed me my weaknesses and gave me an opportunity for more growth and learning.
