Professional euphonium player here. The King 625 Diplomat “baritone” is acoustically and functionally a euphonium; it is not a literal baritone. American “baritones” are labeled as such for marketing.

you're partially right....I have the same degree and focused on low Brass. however I'd refer to that as a bell front euphonium as well. Or American baritone to be clear. British baritone is quite different. and there's lots of variations in the states. But the British baritone is practically a valve trombone. But valve have nothing to do with it😃played 2 to 5 valve euphoniums🤣or 7 if you count a compensating😅
