@morilliu: A bit about my journey: 2024 August – Started my senior year October – Went to J.P. Morgan’s Code for Good Hackathon → got an offer → turned it down for sponsorship reasons November – Attended O4U and won the Joni Madison Award → $3K prize & an internship at McKinney (but they also don’t sponsor) Dec. 2024 – Feb. 2025 Thought it was impossible to find a job that also sponsors in this market… Focused mainly on content and my own startup Made enough money to support myself if unemployment became a reality 2025 March – Used spring break to recruit again → applied to ~40 positions, mainly PM roles April – Got 4 final rounds → 1 offer (1 still in process) My biggest lesson from this process is that you have to know what you want, ASK FOR IT, and show how your track record proves your capabilities! Among the 4 final rounds I got, only one was from a direct application — the other 3 came from reaching out to people in my network or directly to the CEO.
