NYC can be very lonely and it’s high key very hard to make friends. Living here is romanticized A LOT on social media/in movies and that’s not real life—it can be very hard mentally & financially!!!

I felt like that and moved to Park Slope in Brooklyn. It's very quiet and safe, and we're a 2 min walk from prospect park! Also I'm a huge homebody so if you're looking for an introverted friend 🙋🏻♀️

I think it’s bc people get stuck in the romanticized version of nyc. This is coming from a native NY’er. For us it’s balance, i live in a quiet area, no tourists at all but 15 mins from manhattan

NYC was my dream since I was 5. Lived there for 9 years but knew at the 5th ish year it wasn’t aligning anymore. Same thoughts. But once I got out it felt so right. I still mourn it from time to time

I lived in nyc pre-covid and HATED it. Moved to FL. Adored FL. It healed me. But now am back in nyc happier with it than ever. It’s ok to have different seasons w nyc and honor those feelings 🥰
