Love Muay thai but I keep rolling my right ankle and I have shin splints on my left leg, the other day my Judo coach pretended to kick me and I blocked with it…. The pain.. (yes Judo, not Muay Thai)

I don’t think people who want to join combat sports are thinking about safety.

That’s true I have been hit the cleanest shot in boxing for many years, in mma and Muay Thai never been hit clean

I mean theres nothing stopping u from boxing in muay thai. The cte argument doesnt rlly make sense because u can be doing muay thai sparring and ur opponent uses nothing but his boxing skills

I started Muay Thai but then started boxing once a week so I can learn to be a bit lighter on my feet and move my head better. I think boxing compliments Muay Thai. I wouldn’t want to commit to boxing

I did boxing for 15 years and retired with a concussion, I believe boxing is the hardest sport out there, but MuayThai is better if you practice for 3 years.

I love both but Muay Thai is safer imo. Yes you do get hit but less on the head, there are more focus on leg kicks, body kicks, sweeps, etc. (Muay thai is just more fun)

Boxing is 100% more dangerous to train than muay thai due to brain damage. Muay thai teaches you more weapons. But boxing builds fight instincts really fast, perhaps even quicker than muay thai.

Train both, but favour and compete in muay thai. Definitely take more and harder hits to the head in boxing than thai on average.
