Well they do tell them how far it is where they should hit thier shot, what the aim is for the Putt how to play each hole and they carry they’re clubs so seems fine to me

It’s up to the caddy to understand every aspect of the course they are playing along with course conditions and green speeds to help the player. They also have to know what club the player should use
