when i was in middle school, a substitute teacher tried to talk away someones “cell phone” in class. it was a translator. the student was an ELL.

Went on a field trip and our SLP told a parent "I love that you take his AAC everywhere with him". The mom was like "well yeah??" I wanted to say mama you don't even know how crazy some folks are 😭

my sons sped teacher a few years ago didn't want to use his AAC at all because it was too hard to use. when I had to stay with him because he has a service dog. she ignored him when he used his device

i got told “don’t you think she should get a break from that?” while out to eat with my two year old who uses an AAC. old people definitely think they are just ipads

All I can say is I’m glad my sons mounts to his wheelchair cause the amount of children that have tried to take it from him🤣 I’m so happy with my sons school therapist and teachers.

I had a student flush his glasses down the toilet and then tried his AAC device. It didn’t go down but the glasses did! That was not a fun phone call to make
