2 brand new briggs starters on big block went bad here all within 20 hours of being new. must be a bad batch or problem

check voltage with wire on starter, if below 11 volts. add a boost relay. voltage drop on the big engine units is a known problem. starter generally clicks

I would have replaced it. only $300 and you know that the starter is getting voltage. but they will bind and intermittently work. I swear 80% of them work with a bench test and are still bad 😂

there is a starter jumper harness that fixes that problem iv Sean alot of problem out of the Briggs starter but they will pass bench test put jumper harness on unit and fixes the problem

The 37 VG had starters that were bad about hanging up, replaced mine this winter, but you can get you a screw driver and cross over the red and yellow
