The most simple example is that in all buildings there should be a fire extinguisher, but not because you are hoping for a fire to occur, it is just there to protect in case of the worst. Being responsable with your own things doesn't make you selfish and doesn't mean you don't want to build a future with that other person

If you both start with nothing, have parents who have nothing then yes No prenup is fine. Now if one person has already earned a bunch of money, due to inherit a lot from their parents that’s different

Prenups can be a good thing, it just depends what’s in the prenup. Plus I think it’s a great way to see exactly who this person is and how you can deal with difficult things together

I understand your view, but coming from a former divorce mediator, my #1 recommendation for couples is to get a prenup IF you entered the marriage w/greater financial assets than your spouse.
