There are never any words when it’s their time but this one broke my heart. I have only ever seen her from afar but my sweet neighbor called yesterday asking for Banamine. I offered to do a session of biofeedback on her thinking it was an early case of colic. In between hunting for meds, I went out to get a picture of her, she was down and in much worse shape than I was expecting. She was willing to get back up but acted like she had something neurologically going on. Tongue out, staggering. My sweet friend joined me to help keep her up while we waited for the vet. It was horrifying to watch as she continually went back down uncontrollably no matter how hard we tried to keep her up. When we thought she had passed, she still kept fighting. 😣 These kinds of experiences get burned into your brain when you can’t do anything but be with them while they try to pass. I don’t wish it on anybody, but I’m also so thankful when I do get to love them on their way out. ##horselover##circleoflife##sadnessandsorrow##heartbroken ##sickhorse
