If the camp doesn’t have national exposure, if big-time D1 prospects aren’t showing up, what are you really getting out of it? You need to be where the dogs are—so you can compete and get seen by the people that matter. Here’s the checklist I give all my athletes and families: ✅ Is national media covering it? ✅ Are ranked, legit players attending? ✅ Who blew up at this camp in past years? ✅ Are colleges or recruiting outlets actually watching? Now let’s talk about red flags: 🚩 If you got invited to a camp and you don’t even start on your team... HOW? That’s a red flag. Somebody is just trying to get your money. 🚩 If a college camp invites you but you’ve never had a convo with anyone on staff... That’s another red flag. That’s a mass invite—not a real opportunity. Stop going to camps just for the t-shirt and the Instagram post. Go to the ones that give you a platform to compete and get better. The right exposure starts with being in the right environment.
