my plan is to have my sink on the island. i dont understand why this is a problem. you will dish your plates not looking to a wall. is it so hard to just have the dirty dishes in the sink and not out?

We have an appliance garage as you call it but the kettle makes everything damp with the steam and the toaster makes the top part hot

sink in the island is a no brainer, turn around from stove to sink, simple, effective, in line with 5 step rule.

When I designed ours two of my musts were an integrated bin and high cupboards.

no, this bin without lid is a bad idea...you can't keep the bad smells in the bin

Sink in island is ok as a second sink if you have a main sink on another counter or in the prep kitchen
