Do you really want to know how long it takes for plantar fasciitis to go away? 725 DAYS. That was the average amount of time plantar fasciitis symptoms lasted in the people who eventually became symptom-free in this long-term study. Not 6 weeks. Not 3 months. 725 days. Almost TWO YEARS. Researchers followed 174 people with plantar fasciitis for an average of nearly 10 years. At follow-up: 54% were asymptomatic, but it took them an average of 725 days for their symptoms to resolve. 46% still reported symptoms. No. This was a difficult-to-treat group, and many participants had already experienced symptoms for a substantial period of time when they entered the study. So if you've had plantar fasciitis for months and you're wondering: “Why isn't this better yet?” You are not necessarily failing treatment because it hasn't disappeared in 6 or 12 weeks.
