I had that exact same car years ago, thing wouldn't die.. over 350km, did oil change on it maybe twice in all the time I had it.. never broke down, or had any issues. I gave up on driving it till dead

the locknut is a one time use item. should be replaced everytime as there is no cotterpin used in this application

Fun fact: Ford says that spindle nut can only be torqued 4 times over the course of it's life and needs to be replaced. Manual also says to torque it in intervals while rotating the drum backwards.
