okay its kinda hard to explain but the way I see it is that (spoilers!!) the thronglets watched him f¡ght and k¡/_/_ his friend and wanted to bring peace to humanity (a throng, as the dude in the show said, is a community of people that thrive together and have little to no issues with eachother - which was a world cameron himself created in the simulation) and wanted to bring that to mankind - therefore overriding the main systems and producing a sound that allowed the thronglets to enter everyones brain(??? idk how that works) and cameron holding his hand out to the investigator at the end implies that the plan worked and basically now everyones okay with everyone, theres no issues between everyone and all the hate they felt for eachother has been overtaken by the thronglets because the thronglets are now a part of them and want to push their beliefs of complete world peace onto the humans brain they took over (since cameron and the investigator were fighting before the override - it would be weird for cameron to hold his hand out to him otherwise). its honestly such an abrupt ending and its so difficult to explain without it not making sense - i really hope they make a sequel
