People are still complaining she spares Abby. Abby is to Joel as Lev is to Ellie (in pt 1). Ellie kills Abby and the cycle continues, with Lev hunting Ellie for life. Ellie broke the cycle, she won.

For those who are arguing the story is bad, lemme explain, the message of the story is that hate is contagious, but the twist is so is love. Lev made Abby spare Ellie which then had Ellie save both.
