My Matco 88 tooth 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets are the exact same flex head design. The user can either lock the ratchet head in a certain position or have it free.

they don't make the lock any more for the 3/8 it's the new design i love my older style lock

I like my GearWrench and my cheap ole Pittsburg ratchets. The Gear wrench are 120XP which has a double pawl design creating 120 tooth ratchet, my Pittsburg is 80 or 90 tooth actually smooth ratchet .

ill be honest and I know this is way different and it's not hate at all I love snap on stuff I haven't looked at the new icons but ratchet wise I've always loved matcos because if the slimmer profile the teeth ratio and how my pressure it can handle for that profile

I pretty much agree with everything you pointed out. By the way if you don’t like that snap on ratchet I could take it off your hands 😆 no point in letting a perfectly good tool just sit in a drawer

The snap one 3/8 can flex in a free position if u pull down on the tab and push it to either the left or right and will stay in that position
