@unchaindapp: "When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face... ‘What pledge shall I give you?’ he asked." — Genesis 38:15–18 The Pharisees thought they had Jesus cornered. They brought Him a woman caught in adultery, hoping to force Him into a contradiction. If He said, "Stone her," He'd lose His reputation for mercy. If He said, "Let her go," He’d be disobeying the Law. But what they forgot? Jesus knew their hearts—and their sins. In Genesis 38, Judah slept with who he thought was a prostitute. And when she asked for a pledge, he gave her a seal, a cord, and a staff—his personal identifiers. Later, he found out she was Tamar, his daughter-in-law, and he was exposed. When the Pharisees came at Jesus, many scholars believe He was writing in the dirt—possibly listing sins. Maybe their sins. Maybe even the name Tamar—a reminder that even their spiritual ancestors had moral failings. Jesus wasn’t just wise. He was holy. And He wasn’t fooled by their traps because He saw right through the mask. Here's the lesson for us: — Don’t hide behind religion to cover unrepentant sin. It will be exposed. (Luke 12:2) — Don’t point fingers at others when your own heart is far from clean. (Matthew 7:5) — Come to Jesus in humility, not hypocrisy. He offers mercy, but only to the honest. Jesus didn't come to play games. He came to change hearts. And I try my best every day to stay open to change. You don’t need to perform or pretend in front of Him.
