I go to the AMC near me and they do regular ads before the schedule runtime, then about 22 minutes of trailers, followed by 3-5 minutes of amc advertisements before the movie

This is what I love about non-chain theaters, they tend to be a lot less expensive. One of the ones near me only costs 10 for a ticket, with discount days on Tuesdays.

I had a $5 movie theater near where I lived and that place was always full and my family would go at least four times a month. They closed it down and now the closest theater is $18 dollar tickets.

ads are smthn to be upset abt, but the concessions are so pricey because they're the only way the theater makes money, studios set the price of the ticket and the theater gets nothing from it

Alright bet. Get yourself an unlimited subscription. Regal does it for 22 bucks plus you get discounts on concessions. You see a movie a week like you said you would and it's 5 bucks a movie, just like you wanted

The reason it's so expensive to go see a movie is because no one goes anymore. Same thing with concessions, people sneak food in, making the food more expensive
