if that doesn't fix it, you may want to check the wiring as it comes out the shifter on the other side. the wiring tends to rub against the column and shorts out.

sounds like my 03 superduty. but I only lost my cluster and o/d light flashes. still runs and drives though

Unplugg the o/d wires under the plastic cover near the 4way button . My 7.3 was doing some similar stuff ended up being a bad clock spring in my case
