@caylamcleod: I know this might not be a big deal to most, but over the last ten years of flying I can probably count on two hands the number of times I’ve had to talk to a tower. Learning to fly off a rural grass strip in Georgia meant I never had to talk to anyone, and to this day that’s how I prefer it. But I’m definitely getting more and more confident going in and out of controlled airports thanks to my job and spending the time to actually do it. Here’s a recording of my first ever clearance!
