My girl does this, she’s 6, timeout really makes her upset to the point she’ll scream and cry and sometimes she’ll get sleepy and it makes me feel awful.

to me it just shows the timeout worked as intended. emotional regulation was successful so he relaxed and fell asleep. very tiring to have big feelings

he's regulating his emotions, after having an outburst would definitely take a toll especially on someone who doesn't really know how to process their emotions fully yet, don't feel guilty♥️♥️♥️

He tuckered himself out with all those big feels. It’s exhausting having such a little body with no where to put those big feelings sometimes. It either gets bottled in or bursts out!

You could always change the time out chair to a timeout bed or beanbag, that way if he’s just acting out bc he’s tired you don’t feel guilty

to be fair he was just tired and that’s why he was acting out. that’s why my siblings don’t have a timeout chair my mom just tells them to lay down and 5 minutes later everyone is sleep🤣

The guilt doesn’t help you so let it go, but maybe take the lesson that he didn’t need a time out as a punishment & did need rest, which is why he acted however he did!

I wish I had a timeout recliner as a kid lol. I had to sit on the floor with my nose on the wall.
