@hedgerow_healing: 🌱 CLEAVERS 🌱 Everyone out drinking this bank holiday sunday, get a cleavers infusion in your fridge! Trust me, you'll thank me in the morning 😂 This plant is so overlooked, mainly recognised as a plant you may use to prank your mate with. But it's use as a healing herb stretches back centuries, reflected in the famous legend from the Celts that said if you drank an infusion of cleavers every single day you would become unimaginably beautiful. Interestingly, there is some truth in this legend, as drinking an infusion of cleavers helps to rid the body of toxins, ultimately supporting skin health and in some cases can help with acne, bloating, and inflammation. Because of its excellent use as herb that stimulates the lymphatic drainage system and clears the body of toxins, it is a perfect hangover cure! Well, it definitely helps. I never said it will get rid of your hangover completely 😉 I love using cleavers and will drink it in water every day during the spring and summer, while in the winter I use it dried as a revitalising tea. You can simply collect fresh cleavers and add to a bottle or container with some ginger and lemon and leave to infuse in a fridge overnight, creating a refreshing spring tonic. Or, you can dry it out for tea or even use it as you might do spinach, and wilt it down with your food. . . . . . #cleavers #herbalmedicine #springtonic #wildfood #wildmedicine #hedgerow #herbalism #herbalist #hedgewitch #hedgerowhealing #celts #celticpeople #celticlegend #medievaleurope #medievalengland #oldrecipes #medievalrecipes #bankholiday #drinking #hangovercure #hangoverherb

They're part of the same family as coffee plants and can be roasted and brewed to produce a lower caffeine coffee substitute 😁

I don't drink, so I don't get hangovers. Impressive, you're quite the herbalist Seren. Chamomile and echinacea will soon be in bloom in another month. I've been eating Manuka honey lately.
