"No Standing" does mean "No Parking" but it also means no sitting in you car with the engine on and not moving. A "standing vehicle" is one that is typically still running while you quickly unload or load something or are waiting to pickup someone

"The Porch" its installed in the winter to give a barrier between the main door and the entrance so the blast of cold doesnt get in whenever the door is open. NY cold is a different breed.

No standing is not equal to no parking. It means you can’t sit idling with your car on. The makeshift porches are for the WIND to not to enter the business directly.

*“Bus only”, we do have many corner stores just not next to Central Park, cell service stops when you enter the tunnel on a train, the porches are temporary — keeps the cold out during the winter
