Mine said 12.4% which is above average but I also don’t know how my maternal grandmother died and neither does my mum, she just knows she was sick. I think my risk goes up bc I’m Ashkenazi? It asked that so I assume that’s relevant. My brother’s ancestry test said essentially 50% ashkenazi lol

You need a pretty solid idea of family medical history for this or it basically tells you it’s gonna be wrong

Yep. Done this with a geneticist & while the base is over 25% (no brca genes) she says once we add all the extended family & great grand mother on my moms side it’s probably closer to 40-60% lifetime

Frustrating for adoptees. All doctors especially oncologist should be supporting open adoption records for ALL adoptees so we can find bio family. I was shocked when I found bio family cancer history

My score was calculated at like 44% in my lifetime. THANKS DEAD WOMAN (mom)! I’m doing supplemental screening plus in four years put on meds.

Very important, though I should add that it is a very generic score that does not account for important risk factors like non-BRCA1/2 genetic causes, like NF1, Li Fraumeni, Cowden. While these are rarer, they are perhaps the most significant factors that would determine these individuals’ risk as these mutations dramatically increase one’s risk and require early screening

I was recently diagnosed, 48, my kids 30 and 27 TC scores off the charts, insurance has denied any early mammograms or genetic testing for both 😔

With no family hist9ry I found out my risk is 55% lifetime risk. 20% is high risk. I get mri and I take risk reducing meds. The meds are no joke, but it saves lives. The T-C is easy and so informative

what if you've been pregnant but never had kids since i don't see that as a part of the score? are you more at risk if you've ever been pregnant?

Mines 29% and doesn’t even consider lifestyle either ( I work long shifts and nights) which I’m sure also increases it

I am 18% but my mom was diagnosed at 48 so I get my first screening soon. My mom was screened years ago and was BRCA negative. I recently did genetic testing and was all negative 🤞🏼
