My Mimi is from Appalachia. She told us kids all the time before going into the woods if you see something no you don’t you hear something no you don’t you hear your name don’t follow it ignore it and come home. We were never allowed out in the yard either after dark. The blinds were also close upward instead of the regular way you would close blinds.
