20% of a $400,000 loan is $80,000, closing costs would be $8000-20,000. That’s close to $100,000. How is he getting robbed of $400k when he won’t have ever put even close to that amount in. She’s already in for almost $100,000. He would be paying half of the mortgage, so he’ll never have paid 400k. So he’s not being robbed of anything. If he lives somewhere else and pays rent, he doesn’t get to be on the deed there either, cause that’s not how it works.

There would be many ways to do IT fair. He could sign a contract that He owns 50k. She didint want to do this, i would Go. But If He decided to live there u would do the tennant duty. Every repair i do, would cost. If a Major damage Like a Brocken roof, i wouldns pay a Dime, ITS landlord duty. You want a new kitchen, choose one i would Not contribute a Cent to the buy. But thx. good i have enough saving to never come to this Position.
