@the_arielb: I NEED HELP. I’M BEGGING AS A MOTHER. My son has a 504 plan. It’s on file. It’s supposed to mean something. It’s supposed to protect him. But somehow, my child has been missing WEEKS of instruction due to in-school suspensions—without my knowledge, without my consent, without proper documentation, and without his teachers even being told. How do you discipline a child who legally requires support—and then not even tell his mother? I’ve watched my son come home confused, overwhelmed, behind in work for classes where he’s supposed to receive accommodations, and yet he’s been isolated in a room instead of helped. He’s being punished for needing support. He’s falling through the cracks of a system that promised me he wouldn’t. I don’t know who to turn to. I’m a single mother fighting for five children, and I will NEVER stop speaking up for mine—but I need guidance. I need someone who knows what to do. Someone who can tell me how to hold this school accountable. I need HELP.
