As an adult woman in a healthy and secure marriage, my phone is unlocked, but it would be extremely disrespectful to have my spouse read through my best friend messages. She deserves privacy.

I would never do this. He would never do this to me either. We both know each others password to get in. But we don’t read texts. That’s ridiculous unless you have trust issues in my opinion.

we just have one boundary, we don't read each other's best friends chats, cause a lot of the times they are in on surprises for our spouse, or we use them only to vent out silly frustrations

honestly, as much as I get this, I also see this as privacy for the other person so I do see this as a little bit of a privacy problem. not necessarily for the spouse but for the 3rd person

We both have our passwords just for emergency but I WOULD NEVER go through his phone. His friends have problems, they surely vent just as I and my friends vent to me. That's OUR FRIENDS privacy. If I wasn't sure "what's going on" I would ask. WE DO COMMUNICATE... they talk BS
