I can’t comprehend how women in South endured menopause. A hot flash in Aug at 98 degrees wearing 3 layers & a corset. I’m convinced that’s why women took to their beds for long periods, Just awful.

I loved the way the dressed there’s no doubt they must have been warm with corsets and pantaloons unless of course you could afford light materials 🙈
