@thechaosdiaries: 🇻🇳A mini Sapa travel guide🇻🇳 First a quick note: in Sapa and the surrounding areas it’s common to see children begging/dancing for money or offering to braid your hair with flowers - please don’t give them anything! If you’re tempted to give them money, donate it to a children’s charity instead where it can actually do some good ❤️ When to visit April–May: Spring blooms and generally clearer skies, it’s also flooding season where terraces are filled with water for planting, creating dreamy mirror-like reflections August–early October: Golden terrace season where the rice is ripe, the hills glow, and it’s peak photo-op time ☁️ p.s. Sapa is nicknamed “the city in the clouds” for a reason – it can get VERY misty, so you’ll need a bit of luck with the weather! How to get here from Hanoi 🚌 Sleeper bus! Surprisingly chill – I recommend going during the day if you’ve got the time so you can stretch out and take in the views. I booked with HK Open Tour Sapa via 12Go. Things to do 🏔 Take the cable car to Fansipan – highest peak in Indochina 🏡 Wander through Cat Cat Village – yes, it’s touristy but still scenic 🌊 Visit Love Waterfall – seriously fairytale energy ⛰ visit Ham Rong Mountain for panoramic views right from the city centre (if the clouds behave) 🥾 Do a 2-day guided trek with Ethos 🧖‍♀️ Get a massage and take a traditional Red Dao bath Self-guided hikes (search on AllTrails): - Sapa - Hua Thao - The Bamboo Trail Often on popular trails you’ll get local woman from the Hmong community offering to be your guide, they can be quite persistent and may even follow you for a while but please don’t be rude to them, we’ve found just saying no firmly but politely works well if you’re not interested ☕️ Where to eat / grab a great coffee Thong Dong Vegan, Su Vegetarian, Soju BBQ, The Mist, Sailing Sapa, A Quiet American, May Quan, Sapana, Viettrekking, Banh Mi 911 Save this for your trip or message me if you want extra trail tips! #sapa #sapavietnam #vietnam #travel #travelblogger #fyp
