The years keep coming… and so do the heat records 🌡️☀️ (cc @stxr._fx) Every summer seems to bring another dangerous heat wave, another round of record temperatures, and another reminder that what used to be considered “extreme” is becoming increasingly common. June 2026 was the second-warmest June ever recorded globally, according to NOAA. Climate scientists have warned for decades that burning fossil fuels would make extreme heat more frequent and more intense. At the same time, President Trump has prioritized expanding oil and gas production, rolled back several climate regulations, and slowed parts of the nation’s clean energy transition. Many climate scientists and environmental organizations, argue these policies will increase long-term greenhouse gas emissions and make it harder to address climate change. Ironically, producing more oil at home doesn’t shield Americans from rising gas prices. The ongoing conflict with Iran, along with concerns about disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, contributed to higher oil prices and increased pressure on gas prices. The hottest years ever recorded have almost all happened within the last decade. Summers keep getting hotter. Heat waves are lasting longer. Scientists have spent years warning that continued dependence on fossil fuels would make these events more common. Climate change isn’t a future problem, it’s happening now. The question isn’t whether the planet is getting hotter. It’s whether we’ll act before today’s record-breaking heat becomes tomorrow’s normal. #news #politics #climatechange #viral #fyp
