@helenlikesplants: Make an easy pea trellis 🫛 Peas climb as they grow so need support, and this is the easiest way I’ve found to do so - hammer two support sticks into the ground either side of your pea line, and add a new line of string as your peas get taller 🌱 This keeps them neat (as they’ll sprawl everywhere otherwise) and makes them easy to harvest 💚 #gardening #gardeningtips #gardeninguk #growyourown #growingpeas #allotmentlife #vegpatch #peasupports #verticalgrowing
Actually the best way to support peas is to give them space to talk and listen sympathetically, offering reassurance that you're there to help.

We cut one stem due to being bent, can we just put that stem in the soil and hope it grows? Or will it just die?

Such a practical trellis method - hammering in sticks and running string between them costs almost nothing but makes such a difference for keeping climbing peas supported. Great to see the tendrils already gripping!

Such a clever and practical trellis - using just two sticks and string to support the peas as they climb is exactly the kind of low-cost solution that works brilliantly on an allotment. The peas look really healthy too!
