Would you like more beginner-friendly videos about keyboards?? More tips below! ☺️ - This is not really a tutorial! I stayed very high-level but it’s already over a minute. 😭 I highly recommend watching longer, in-depth tutorials on youtube! 🫶 but feel free to ask me questions too! — Some additional tips/context: ✧ 3 main types of stabs: plate-mount, screw-in, or clip-in stabilizers. Most budget or prebuilt boards come with plate-mount stabilizers. Of the 3, they’re the least stable and secure, BUT the cheapest and easiest to take out! — ✧ These stabilizers and most other clip-in/screw in may come in both 1.2mm & 1.6mm size. If you already know what board specifically you’re going for, get the right one for that PCB. If not, go for the 1.6mm and use the stabilizer pads if needed! — ✧ I lube my stabs with dialectric grease because it’s much cheaper than lube. I usually also add lube (Krytox 205g0) to the bend of the wire after clipping it in. Fully lubing your stabs with 205g0 is totally okay! — ✧ These stabilizers are stock, but most stabilizers that come in pre-built keyboards come pre-lubed in keyboards. My experience is that even if they start out okay, eventually that lube dries out and gets weird.
