I feel bad for that teacher, the amount of guilt she must feel. Sure she could have made sure the door latched but still all it would have done was delayed him for a minute or two.

CNN just did an interview with that teacher. The school had it documented before the incident that the door was malfunctioning and not latching properly. The police blamed her to try to cover their own negligence.

In the full video, you can see her pull the door closed. The doors lock automatically. If the door was "unlocked", then someone with a key had previously unlocked the door, unbeknownst to the teacher. She wouldn't need to prop it open if it was unlocked.
