My favorite was going to URGENT CARE nwb using a knee scooter. There was no electric door. It was heavy and I had to pull it open somehow. Meanwhile the receptionist was right inside the door watching

I had a realization if I couldn't walk stairs I wouldn't be able to live at my apartment. Stairs are the only option that made me realize even more lack of housing accommodations for disabled

I understand your frustration. I had reconstructive surgery on my right hip (and have to do the left this summer). Society is not kind to the disabled and the ADA is basically useless. 🤷‍♀️

These are actionable things that are not being compliant with the American with Disability Act. My friend’s dad was lawyer that would sue business’ for these things.

I am a commercial interior designer. In college , we had to navigate the world in a wheelchair, blind, etc. it was eye opening. All architects, designers, engineers etc should do similar exercises.

Dollar generals are the worst. I was always frustrated with the one I worked at bc we had so much stuff stacked out on the floor that made it impassable for mobility aide users.

Bad white man planning. Same with hooks on the bathroom stall door or door. My beef is with child proof caps. All the opening of things.

Most things seemed to be designed by men, who never think about things. Or it costs too much so they don’t do ADA compliant. Need more thoughtful people designing things for all people in mind & funds
