i think the number is the target altitude in ft like 8 is 8000 but in the f15 or f16 i think its the radar scan that show it can only scan between 4000 ft and 12000 ft so if the target is higher 1/2

I know that in the f15/16/18 the numbers you showed are altitudes that it scans at, so it scans between 7,000-12,000, but when you switch it to a bigger scan it’ll go higher

i think the 12 on the top and the 4 on the bottem is similar to the F16c s . its the radar search hight. it searches from 4000 to 12000 Feet of Alt.
