Collin Gosselin says one visit from his mother, Kate Gosselin, at a mental health facility when he was just 12 left him with words he would never forget. In his new memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, Collin recalls Kate visiting him in 2016, when he had been living at the facility for months. According to Collin, he told his mother he missed her, but she did not respond. He also showed her origami gifts he had made for his seven siblings, but he claims she refused to take them. Collin says he then asked if he could come home. He alleges Kate told him it would not be appropriate because his siblings were doing better without him. Then came the four words he says hurt the most: “You broke our family.” Collin writes that he began sobbing as the doctor returned to the room and Kate announced she was leaving. He says a nurse escorted him back, and his mother never visited him at the facility again. Kate has previously said Collin was placed in treatment after years of outpatient care proved insufficient, and that the decision was made to protect him and the family. Her attorney also denied earlier allegations of mistreatment. Now, at 22, Collin is sharing his account of that childhood in a memoir, revisiting a family story that first unfolded in front of television cameras. \#CollinGosselin #KateGosselin #CelebrityNews #RealityTV #entertainmentnews
