@ahouseofplay: Oil Spill Clean Up Can you help the penguins and clean up the oil in the water? We used a simulated oil (canola oil & cocoa powder) in a Tuff Tray of water to learn about the various ways to clean up oil spills (and what a difficult task it is!). We tried a number of different methods for removing and controlling the oil: - dish soap - floating booms (cut up foam packaging) - cotton cheese cloth - cotton balls - sponges - scooping and skimming the oil from the water - adding soapy water Of course we also helped scrub clean our penguin friends. Inspiration for this play is from my talented friend Pervin at @lifewith3men (IG) and @Scouts Canada (who has a wonderful instruction sheet on how to simulate an oil spill clean up with kids). 🐧 Mini White Tuff Tray - @ScholarsChoice (✨save with code HOUSEOFPLAY15) #playbasedlearning #learnthroughplay #kidsactivities #stemforkids #sensoryactivities
