older people get UTIs I've learned that low iodine causes this issue. make sure he takes refrigerated probiotics cause the antibiotics destroy his microbiome and he will loose his strength

Going through this with my Dad. Catheter is causing UTIs then sepsis. Hospital stay . Now another UTI. He can’t urinate without it . It’s such a battle.

What are the symptoms that make you decide a hospital visit is needed? I dealt with this in January with my mom but the er visit was initially for something else. 13 hours altogether!

My 91 yr old mother was getting frequent uti’s. The doctor finally put her on a daily prophylactic dose of antibiotics in order to prevent this from happening.

Wouldn’t it be nice if our healthcare could have a nurse go to the house and take a sample and then have a doctor call in a script! Especially if this seems to be recurring
