It takes couple months for dogs to acclimate to new home and he is just feeling comfy with family and strangers come in: his behavior normal. Just give guests a couple treats and see if that entices.

Have your friends throw him treats. My dog was raised in an apartment and it took him forever to go potty in our yard rather than on walks!

Whenever that happened with the dog I had I would have my guest take him for a walk. It is a game changer.

My anxious girl does better meeting new people outside/on a walk than if they come into the house many times. I wouldn’t push it right now but that may be something to try later on?

Take him to human busy places if possible and sit a good distance away and just give him treats and positive reinforcement, each time it gets easier get a bit closer

My boss has a standard poodle. He has major "stranger danger" tendencies. Even if he knows you, if he hasn't seen you for a minute, he barks and won't come near you for a while

You’re doing great. Our rescue was vicious with other big dogs and with TLC she’s a cream puff.

Highly recommend working with a trainer to help him with his confidence.

My dog would only go on walks and not in our backyard. Give him cooked salmon sometimes for his skin.

Trainer recommended keeping exposure to the anxiety-producing activity brief and positive. Then build up from there. It gets better!!!

My 4 year boy dog still pees like a girl. Sometimes he pees like a boy but mostly like a girl. I think he is just lazy!

My nervous girl has issues when people come into our space. Giving treats helps her, hopefully you’ll learn what works for Mr Ted!

Could your visitors come on a walk with you and after a while casually take the leash? Remember when he arrived at the home your smell was already there, now it's starting to be his safe space.

You never know what he’s been through plus abandonment so it will take some time and patience.

If the nervousness/anxiousness persists consider asking your vet about/ researching calming treats. Cheaper on Amazon then getting from vet.

If he doesn’t have an issue with other dogs, a dog park may a good way to socialize
