Tethering with Lightroom is THE WORST experience in my photo career. It’s such a bad software for tethering. Capture One is so superior in that one aspect. But also using i.e a tether block helps alot

Buy a quality cord from a reputable company, not cheap ones. Anker is solid. A lot of the cheaper cords aren’t actually internally wired correctly and can damage your laptop or camera

Hey Jordan! See if they have a tether lock or bracket that keeps your cable locked in. Camera ports are notoriously weak and break. TetherBlock, Tether Guard, Tether Tools.

You should probably put a strain reliever from one of the strap rings and run the cable back up through that so that there’s no strain on the plug

Capture One is def the better tether solution than LR. If you like reviewing on camera, you can do it via FTP as well. I can come by one day and help you work it out if that helps!

laptop on a table and I'll put a piece of tape over the cord to hold the cord in place better. then have a long enough cord and have a small clamp for the camera body or cage

Capture one. However, same with the cord. I need to upgrade my gear so I can tether wirelessly. 😳
