Tips are not mandatory. Remember that. And if you are worried that they won't be able to pay their bills without your tip,then the server needs a new job. Don't fret too much about it!

Slow is different than bad service. It’s ok to give a smaller tip for bad service.

If you don’t tip at all, a lot of time the server will lose money on your table. they make like 2$ an hour without tips and have to pay table cleaners and food runners a percentage of food sales. So bad service you can do is 10% if it’s really bad, 15% if it’s bad. 20-25% if it’s good service

In the South or at a good restaurant you should NEVER feel rushed. That’s called turning tables and isn’t good service. What do u mean by bad service? Rude?

If it’s low and or bad service I give accordingly. Bad service etc…I write a note on the receipt about why the tip is low. If the restaurant has a good GM they will read the bill!

no. I was a waitress. if you have bad service, you give a penny or a dollar. that is the perfect explanation. they know you acknowledged the tip, but they weren't worth it

I give 20% at minimum, no matter how bad the service. I have bad days at work too, and my pay doesn’t get docked for it. I will sometimes talk to a manager if it was bad, but I still tip at least 20%.

If the service ir food is incredibly bad I would talk to the manager. I generally tip 20% for something really bad I’ll tip 15%.

The north is very fast paced, less friendly. The south (Florida really isn't the south) is more relaxed and friendly overall. Florida is a mix and some parts are touristy, some aren't.

To linger over meals is expected In the South. Food and conversation is the norm. 20 is actually to low. I tip 40%. If it's truly bad leave 10%.👍😎

Since it’s basically the same economics that all wait staff are paid way below the minimum wage I just give 20% all the time. If there’s a real problem, it’s probably more useful to just mention it
