@helipilotleigh: First flown in 1965 and serving in Vietnam, this beautifully restored #Huey is an active tribute to those who served and sacrificed. This aircraft operated as an assault helicopter with the first Flight Platoon of the 135th Assault Helicopter Company from October 1969 to February 1972 She was the longest surviving “slick” in the 135th. The average life expectancy for these Huey’s was 8 months. This one lasted an amazing 28 months. And has now been fully restored to flying condition and has numerous distinctive markings that actively reflect how she appeared in 1970-71. Check out their website for more info and how you can contribute to their cause: hueyvets.com - EMUinc.org It was my great honor to join the #emu309 to experience the beauty of this machine from the pilot seat. 🙏
