It makes sense why it can't be returned. I work in Sainsbury's as an online shopper and you only get 25 mins to do chilled shops so you can get the stuff in the chiller on time so its not left in room temperature conditions. You wouldn't be able to return chilled and frozen items bc they don't know how long its been out of the fridge/freezer for and it would be against the health and safety protocols to take it back. The only time you can return chilled and frozen items is if its an online delivery bc the drivers have chillers in the vans so they can bring the stuff back without it going off

100% Sainsbury’s was right here. They don’t know if it’s been kept cold the whole time it’s been out of the store. Could have got warm and then been rechilled.

that's a well known policy for all supermarkets. when something chilled or frozen has left the store they can't take it back, it's a food hygiene issue

Just came across this. I work on the CSD at a Sainsbury’s. That has been policy for years. The manager is 100% right.

Asda got 20 min rule if bring back after 20 mins after buying you can’t return like medicine ( you have to keep below 25c)you can’t return

A quick look on their website states they don’t accept refunds for chilled items, he was telling you that but you were shouting over him lol
