This card often can symbolize a stand-still, difficulty making a decision and moving fwd; a disconnect of mind and heart. An over-relying on the mind, not enough trust in intuition (blocked heart, turned away from water.)

i read it more as hesitancy and being scared to do things even if the person can sense their environment with their intuition. their blindness makes them clutch the swords defensively bc they're scared to listen to their other senses
