This isn’t “gentle parenting”. It’s called community pedagogy. You ate this up and as a queer, racialized and colonized person, thank you for showing how you as a white person stepped up and had a conversation with someone who was already open enough to learn. You never infantilized him nor did you put your moral superiority towards the front. You were actually just having a conversation knowing that we all face a common oppression (albeit unevenly distributed): classism. This is what Paulo Freire and bell hooks would do.
