I started from handsewing, randomly made pillowcases, some doll clothes, and a plushie from a pattern I made! Backstitch is my bestie fr. Now I just bought a sewing machine to learn so I can do things much faster. My tip for absolute beginners is to start small, try hand sewing first, don't be afraid to make mistakes, and trust yourself and think that you can do it!

I watched the series you have and it was so helpful! I was able to get all of my materials (except the fabric for the project) from family like you suggested and I followed your tutorial with my own little twists to make it my own, again as you suggested. Doing so made things a little interesting because I had to figure out how to do things that you weren’t doing for my twists as I went but it turned out so cute! I’ve been using it for the last few weeks and I think because I was so careful and took so much time to make sure things were secure this bag isn’t ripping any time soon. Thanks for the help and I’m so excited to watch more tutorials! For anyone curious, I got all of the fabric from Walmart, just to keep it simple for the first project.
